While we're at it, couldn't we just do away with "earmarks?" Should they have to vote on and discuss these boon doggles so we can see just what they're for and against? Shouldn't we know where the hidden perks in bills are and how much they're costing us? Let's just do away with them. Come on, now. Get off your apathy and let's get something done while we're here having fun.

Dragon: I have a feeling there are millions of people out here who would sign on to your suggestion. The reality is this: we do send decent people up there from time to time and (I believe) that D.C. itself corrupts them. The reason we are stuck with 4/gallon gas now is because both the auto and oil industries have had vested interests in keeping us on Arab and Venezuelan crude oil these last 30 years; therefore No incentives have been allowed to fully develop to free us from these demonic cretins who want to see the U.S. crippled and toppled. They just may get their way since it looks like a Democratic sweep in November and creeping Socialism becomes a full scale gallop.

Well, if we're going to get busy, why can't we do away with lobbyists. At least require they mail their stuff to the legislators. We all know it won't get read.
