PUMA= Political Unity My A**
I heard it on the news this morning. Clinton followers are calling themselves Pumas, and plan on voting for McCain for no other reason than they don't like the fact that Obama won the primary. These people should have their voters' registration cards torn up.
If a person doesn't look into the candidates and vote accordingly, then they shouldn't vote. These people don't think McCain is the man for the job, they're just holding a grudge about Obama. Let's look at a few things here.
They complain that Clinton won Michigan and Florida, and if those votes were counted then she would be the candidate. OK, well, it's hard to really say that, because had Obama campaigned in either state, or even been on the ticket in Michigan, things might have turned out differently.
Clinton won the popular vote in Texas. OK, but Obama won the caucus, and that's how the candidate is chosen, right? If you look at the records for each state, Clinton won most of the primaries while Obama won most of the caucuses. That tells me that in the elections where it was registered democrats voting, he was winning. In the states were republicans can go in and vote for "the least likely to beat their candidate" she was winning. Personally, I find this appalling because I want the two best candidates competing so that the nation has the best choices, I don't care about party I care about results.
PUMAs, go ahead and hand the election over to the republicans, to McCain. And I'm going to be telling you "I told you so" and "quit complaining, you put him in there" for the next four years. Rant over.
