Would you vote for a Muslim for president?
Update...I could have phrased this question in any number of ways, such as..."would you vote for a muslim for governor/senator/congress, etc.?"...or..."would you be in favor of a muslim on the US Supreme Court?...or..."would you be in favor of a muslim in any political position on any level (local, state, national) whether elected or appointed...(phew did I cover everything?) But I chose president for two reasons...first, the presidential race is well underway and is top of mind for many people...and...second, the position of president is the only nationally elected position in our country and is applicable to all voters this year.
I chose Muslim because both major party candidates are Christians, as are most citizens of the United States. I could have picked any number of non-Christian religions but Islam is the largest religion in the world and more of a hot button topic right now. BTW...do you know the meaning of the words Islam and Muslim?
