This stimulus package chatter has me wistfully longing for a day when we actually manufactured things. Apparently the cure for the economy is for the government to print more I.O.U.'s and send you a check ($300-$600 each) so that you will be able to spend dollars in retail stores to buy stuff made in China.
Or you can call Domino's and order an extra pizza once a week for the next two fiscal quarters. Then they'll have to hire 12 million more illegals to support the upswing in revenue.
Wasn't the crisis started due to us USA consumers signing up for mortgage loans we could not afford?
The world depends on our overconsumption and we little creatures have gotten cautious all of sudden. Our collective consumer confidence level has plummeted as we listen to the news and check our post-Christmas credit card bills. That prudent cautiousness is the enemy of commerce. We must reject such thoughts as the entire world economy hinges on us USA consumers staying the spendthrift course. With God's help we will defeat the Jihadists of Debt reduction.
So, if you spend like a drunken sailor, you are really more of a Naval Seaman Patriot...greasing the World Economic Wheel.
I have a little better idea;
How about we level the tariff playing field?
***Start making things again and stop selling pizza to each other
How about the government spends what they take in and take in less?
***That cut a check program takes time and is so wasteful. Why not just leave the money with us in the first place?
How about we look at Holland who lowered their corporate taxes to the lowest in the world and now have one of the fastest growing economies?
***I wonder how many U.S. employers moved to Holland or other friendlier ports?
We should reject the BAND-AID atop the open gash on our Economic Aorta as an inadequate cure?
***So bleed a bit more for the cause, donate your blood and spend those open credit lines today... Save the Republic
Don't get me wrong... I'll still cash my $600 check
Oops, I make too much, no check for me :(
