The Presidential Campaign seems to have bypasses the most important discussions.
Some of the future is, by nature, unknown and at best we can form an inference as to what the specific challenges might be. However, we can compare the vision and insights of our would-be Presidents.
That said, I am a tad weary of the sniping over "gotcha" crap.
Certainly reviewing someone's record (especially if you can identify trends, tendencies and allegiances can be determined) is a valuable insight.
That discovery is a much different matter than these examples;
Hillary calling out Obama for having work in a law firm who had a client who owned "slum-like housing".
Obama calling out Hillary as having sat on the board at Wal-Mart (the States largest employer during a time when her husband was or had bene Governor.
McCain citing a singular issue of killing a "military pork project" as evidence of his fiscal responsiblity centricity.
Thompson being called non-pro-life as a law firm he worked for had a client on the other side of the fence for which he billed a 20 minute consult.
I would much rather hear the candidates articulate their...
...Competing strategic visions of the future.
...Comparative record exposed with multiple examples to make a case as to one's candidate's tendencies on a given issue
Or put more simply...Mr/Ms Candidate.."stand and deliver"!!!
Tell me what are the three biggest issues/challenges that you advocate we engage
Whyare your three issues more of a priority than your oppositions identified priorities? (if applicable)
How would you engage those issues, name three action items for each?
How do these approaches differ from that of your opposition's?
What record can you point to that would indicate credible evidence that you are better poised to execute those action items compared to your opposition?
That's all I need...from there I can make a reasonably grounded decision as to my big three...
Are you capable?
Do you have a viable vision/plan?
Can I trust you?
