I have three blogs, and when I started the two newest ones just a short time ago, I worried whether I would be able to keep them going. Would I run out of things to say? Where could I get fresh material and inspiration? If your blog is a personal one, that's not much of a problem. But when you start a blog in order to teach or to share information, running out of ideas is a real possibility
Before you get started spend some time thinking about the subject and all the different ways you can approach it. Are there other subjects that can be connected to it? If it really looks like something that has endless potential, go for it. I've also found that as I got into a subject more and more possibilities opened up that I hadn't even thought about originally.
Google your main topic and its keywords. Do this every so often, and dig down through the pages to find stuff that isn't popular, but may be just what you want.
Use Google alerts. Pick your topics and how often you want to be alerted. I have five alerts, and I've been tweaking them and eliminating some to maximize the results.
Google again. Google blog search sometimes brings up obscure treasures that you might not have found with a regular search.
Stumbleupon. Even if you don't want to add your own favorites or participate in the group discussions, it's worth it to sign up and put the toolbar in your browser. Select your interests, and start stumbling. The Stumble button has brought me a wealth of information and inspiration Iand amusement).
