CONTEST: Name the Group & Find a Pic

Okay, guys! This is our group and no one can take it away from us!

It's about pondering the imponderable, asking the simple and the complex questions pertaining to our mere existence here on earth. We'll cover topics from Intelligent Design vs. Evolution, to UFOs or life on other planets, to difference in religions, to mythology and historical perspectives on what makes us who we are, to souls, spirits, and whatever you come up with in this genre.

Now, WHAT DO WE WANT TO NAME THIS GROUP? Do we want to keep it as it is, or do you have a catchy idea that is not likely to hurt someone's feelings or go against TBD guidelines?

And, DO YOU HAVE A UNIQUE, FUNNY, OR SERIOUS PIC THAT WOULD REPRESENT THIS GROUP? I may put a temporary one up in the meantime, like boothby's pic (teeheehee).

Use your imagination, be creative, make your own design. Give it to us in this thread and we will vote on it.

Hmmm...

How about "Prove It!" or, counter to that, "Feel It" (though I think we'd get a bit of a spillover from the various sex groups on TBD)

Maybe, "Look into your heart--you know it to be true..."

But we'd have to set groundrules. Are we just to say what we believe? Are we to show supporting info for what we believe? Are we allowed to challenge others on their beliefs?

Is it to be an all-or-nothing sort of place? No holds barred? (except no nasty name calling--iunless you've earned it)

Well, I've got a more serious group, "Practical Christianity", so I set this up for you and jacquin, and anyone else that wants to put their stuff on.

No PREACHING allowed, and I think I'll be the one to decide, since I think I understand both sides, but we can decide as a group, also, [e.g., no parking Bible verses willy nilly, for instance, and no YELLING. ; - )

If "no preaching", then it seems there needs to be some give and take from your side of things, too. Give me something to work with.

I think beliefs need to either have some supporting information, or at least a good reason why one believes that way. "Because the Bible says so" or a 2-page long dissertation on the scientific principles of quantum physics should not count.

"Feel It" - nah, I think you're right on the type of population we'd draw in. (LOL) "Prove It" won't work, either, because faith and beliefs cannot all be proved. "Here's the Evidence" might work, what think ye?
