Tune Inn reopens Friday (photos)
The Capitol Hill dive bar doesn't look so divey anymore — at least not the shiny new kitchen. But as long as the patty melt is still on the menu, and the beer remains cheap, we'll be skipping work Friday and stooling up here instead.
Nearly recovered from a blazing hangover, the Tune Inn, a Capitol Hill dive bar established in 1947, plans to reopen this Friday after a kitchen fire shut its doors on June 22. Regulars will notice a few changes, like this donated drunken squirrel on a shelf behind the bar, but owner Lisa Nardelli said it will ultimately feel the same as before.
