Occupy DC protestors arrested after standoff over wooden structure (photos)

Yesterday morning, police ordered Occupy DC protesters to remove a wooden structure they built in McPherson Square. By evening, 31 people had been arrested.

Protester Jake Lowry (center) of Maine is on his third month with the Occupy movement. He began in Portland on Oct. 1, then moved south to New York City to join Occupy Wall Street. Lowry said he was arrested while trying to help an elderly man during a demonstration there on Nov. 17. Now he's with Occupy DC in McPherson Square.
