Maine Avenue Fish Market: Fresh fish for sale under a D.C. bridge
Each day, fishmongers at the Maine Avenue Fish Market sell their wares, both fresh and cooked, for prices lower than those at D.C. grocery stores.
Linwood Gunter (left), 62, has been fishing on the Maine Avenue Fish Market docks for 40 years and said about 18 months ago he caught a 52-pound catfish here, which other fisherman said is the local record. Standing next to Mr. Gunter is Nathaniel Jones, 48, who said he's been fishing here since he was 7 years old.
