Maine Avenue Fish Market: Fresh fish for sale under a D.C. bridge

Each day, fishmongers at the Maine Avenue Fish Market sell their wares, both fresh and cooked, for prices lower than those at D.C. grocery stores.

At 11 a.m. on Friday morning, Stacey Diggs, who works at Jessie Taylor Seafood, tags rockfish, also known as striped bass, caught ten hours earlier on Chesapeake Bay side of the Eastern Shore. He said the market opens daily at 7 a.m., and websites like Yelp say it closes at 9 p.m.
