Team America Rocketry Challenge: Costumed finalists launch rockets for prizes
One hundred finalists from across the country competed in the Team America Rocketry Challege Saturday. There was a Star Wars team, of course.
Chewbacca watched another member of Millington Team 2 configure their rocket before a first round launch. TARC teams consist of three to ten students enrolled in grades 7 to 12. The top ten teams will share $60,000 in scholarships and get a chance to participate in NASA's Student Launch Initiative, which raises their game, literally, by challenging students to propel a rocket one mile up.
