Girl Scouts celebrate 100th anniversary
An estimated 200,000 Girl Scouts came to D.C. to celebrate their 100th anniversary. Some of them got to watch as the artist known as GAIA, made finishing touches on his likeness of Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low on Sunday at the National Portrait Gallery.
GAIA at work on his portrait of Juliette Gordon Low in the museum's Kogod Courtyard. The artist said he created a 3' by 4' linoleum block that he scaled up for this canvas enlargement.
