Metro station name changes: A history of the system's changing titles
Ever since the original five Red Line stations opened in 1976, Metro has expanded to great lengths. Since then, changing geographic features have forced stations to swap names on a regular basis. As compiled by Greater Greater Washington, here's a brief history of Metro's name changes.
1999 - Woodley Park-Zoo
1999 was a big year for station name changes. One included adding Adams Morgan to the Woodley Park station.
