She's moving too fast. I'm not ready to commit, but I don't want to lose her.

Do's and Don'ts:

Don't look at your situation as either/or. Find a way to make your point without ending the game!

He/she may be insecure and want the outcome before its natural time. The word "sure" isn't part of insecure. It just rhymes which isn't a reason to follow it.

Say This:

I so enjoy our relationship, and I want to savor every moment of it. There is an old proverb I'm going to make up for this occasion that says: Never eat the dessert first or you won't get to enjoy the appetizer.

We are new. Let's allow our relationship to develop and have time to learn more about each other. It's like a recipe. When you try to take a shortcut, the cake doesn't rise ... and in a relationship, that can be a real sad state of affairs.

Come on, let's get on with the moment. It will be a good one. I promise you.

I agree 100% with the recipe analogy; "When you try to take a shortcut, the cake doesn't rise...", and I might add that in order for a relationship to withstand the test of time, it must be built on a firm foundation from the ground up, not from the roof down.
