Say This:

My guess is that men who don't ask for variety in their sexual play know that they're ignorant and are, as a result, quite insecure and uncomfortable with the situation. They won't appreciate having it pointed out that their love-making is unspectacular or sub-par.

So you'll have to take the lead, but in a non-threatening way.

Show him some R-rated movie where they imply the use of some interesting sexual position. Then say "hey, that looks like fun -- wow, look how much he seems to enjoy that!"

If that doesn't work, straddle him when he's asleep and wake him up ever so gently.

If that doesn't work, tell him that you're sorry that you're such a bad lover (not that you are, but you don't want to hang the blame on him right now) and ask if there's anything at all that he would like to try -- anything he'd like to teach you. You must make him promise to be patient with you because you might not get it right the first time. He'll probably come up with something.

If none of this works, then maybe he just doesn't like sex. It happens.
