Say This:

Two weeks ago, I wrote this to my lover of 10 months.

"Darling,

It hurts me to say this but I must.

It seems that I am not the man you're looking for. My temperament, behavior, background and beliefs are not well suited to yours .Nor am I ready to accept the demands you place on me. I don't feel that this long distance relatonship of ours is good for me."

We are still "seeing" each other by phone & email, but there has been a definite move toward the friends side of the continuum.

I'm a proponent of honesty, however direct it may be. I believe that sometime the sacrifice of honesty is respect. I believe that it may seem to be harsh, in time she will realize that real love is giving someone the freedom to be free. I think you have shown her that you love her by not allowing her to decieved. Remember you did the right thing.
