Andrew Beaujon Arts & Entertainment Editor
I am a native of Arlington, Va., and attended Wakefield High School. I came to TBD from Washington City Paper; before that I was a copy editor and a freelance music writer, and I wrote a book about Christian rock (I also worked at Martha Stewart Living — I'd be happy to demonstrate how to make a decent paillard of chicken sometime). City Paper, which I joined in January 2006, had long been a weekly print publication; in the four years I was there we worked very hard on making it a daily Web-based one as well. I've got tons of ideas about how to do arts coverage on the Web, and I'm tremendously excited to try some of them at TBD.
I've been a pop geek since Minor Threat played my junior high school, my first real concert was the Ramones at the Wax Museum (my dad drove my little brother and me), and I used to work at the classical desk at Olsson's in Old Town.
I am a dedicated bike commuter and live in Del Ray. If I could fix anything in this world, I'd invent a non-violent way to alert joggers who are wearing headphones that I am going to pass them.
