Capital Bikeshare coming to the National Mall, but bureaucratic hurdles remain
Comment
Less than two months ago, it seemed the National Park Service would rather allow a soccer practice on the Mall than Capital Bikeshare stations. Then it seemed not so implausible. D.C. jaywalkers and cyclists receiving less tickets from police
Comment
Did you know that you're not allowed to ride a bike while carrying something that prevents you from holding the handlebars? That's a $25 fine, as it is for riding side-by-side with another bike, "excessive number of riders," and "not riding on seat." Pedestrians, meanwhile, can be fined $10 for not crossing the street at a right angle. You probably don't know these laws because fewer of you are being cited for them.
