    If you were to ask me for a headline to describe February’s ANC 6A meeting, I’d call it the, “We Pretty Much Agree on Everything Except Marathons” meeting.

    "Density" is one of those words that gets tossed around a lot with little care for what it actually means, kind of like "scale" or "quality of life." However, the word only refers to a number representing the proportion between an amount of something (like people) in a given space, and that number is meaningless without any context.

    Last night, February 10, 2011, the District of Columbia Patients’ Cooperative (DCPC) organized a panel to discuss the District of Columbia’s medical cannabis program. The town hall meeting was held at All Souls Unitarian Church and started at 7 p.m.

    Several of the outstanding neighborhood projects profiled Feb. 9 at a forum of the Braddock District Council of Community Associations could easily be adopted by community groups in Annandale. After all, we are all dealing with similar issues—such as the need to maintain common areas and recruit more volunteers.

    At Tuesday night’s ANC6b meeting new ABC Committee Chair Carol Green announced that voluntary operating agreements had been reached between Barracks Row neighbors, ANC6b ABC representatives, and the restaurant owners. Barracks Row neighbors announced this afternoon that are withdrawing their protest against liquor licenses for the two restaurants and will settle for the voluntary agreements, citing the likelihood that the ANC would withdraw their protest against the licenses. This should clear the way for approval of the license applications by the Alcohol Beverage Regulatory Administration.
