Fairfax County 'flashbang' demonstration will sound like gunfire

If you're driving on Route 28 through Chantilly, Va. this afternoon, and you happen to hear what sounds like gunfire or explosions, do not expect the worst. A law enforcement conference at the Dulles EXPO Center is holding a "flashbang" demonstration — that is, showing off some stun grenades — between 3 and 4:30 p.m. The grenades emit a bright flash of light and sound like gunfire. If you hear such a sound at any other time today, please call 911.
