Virginia DUI crashes down for fifth straight year

Virginians have either cut down on drinking and driving, or have gotten rather good at driving under the influence. According to the Virginia Highway Safety Office, 8,221 impaired drivers were involved in car crashes in 2010, down from 9,366 last year; the numbers have declined consistently since 2006, which saw 11,736 cases.
