Back in March, new Census figures showed that D.C.'s black population had plummeted and barely constituted a majority, while the number of non-Hispanic whites had skyrocketed. That's when Marion Barry said what he said, and we all got to use the phrase "Chocolate City" one last time, as if in remembrance or lament. But now, even newer data indicates that we might soon become "Vanilla City," or at least "Milk Chocolate City."
