    With an economic output of $299 billion, and ranked second in innovation, D.C. tied Seoul for 10th place on the Global Economic Power Index by the Martin Prosperity Institute. This only makes it that much sadder, and infuriating, that we have the third-highest poverty rate in the United States.

    K Street may be the lobbyists' domain, but Pennsylvania Avenue NW is where the real money is in D.C. According to a study of the most expensive commercial real estate locations in the nation, the street ranks fifth with an average rent of $80 per square foot of office space — almost 50 percent above the average market rate.

  • Combos' 'manliest cities' ranks D.C. 42nd in the country

    When you think of manliness, what comes to mind? One company hopes it's this: hollowed-out pretzels stuffed with with fake, chalky cheese. We're talking, of course, about Combos, which has released a study titled "America's Manliest City." Washington, D.C. is ranked 42 out of 50, dropping 33 spots since last year's rankings. How emasculating!
