Here are some of the best Indian restaurants in the D.C. area, as recommended by users of Quora, a social question-and-answer service.

  1. Rasika

This Penn Quarter restaurant is recommended by many. John Thomas says: "You can't go wrong with Rasika near the Verizon center."

  2. Kabob n Karahi

Andy Carvin says: "If you're just looking for good tandoori chicken or a kabob, my all-around favorite is Kabob n Karahi in Silver Spring's Cloverly neighborhood, near New Hampshire Ave. and Briggs Chaney Rd. It's no-nonsense counter service, and usually jam-packed with local Pakistani families. But their boneless chicken kabob and chickpea curry are to die for. No frills, but really, really awesome food."

  3. Indique

In Cleveland Park, Geetu Ambwani says: "Indique is pretty good - their Chettinad chicken in particular is outstanding." Tammy Gordon also recommends it.

  4. Aditi

Andy Carvin says: "Aditi in Georgetown has great tandoori. They use olive oil rather than ghee, so some dishes taste a bit different but they're still very good."

  5. Taste of India

Tammy Gordon says: "For delivery, I like Taste of India in Woodley Park."

  6. Delhi Dhaba

Andy Carvin says: "Delhi Dhaba in Arlington was pretty good. Counter service, cheap, but tasty."

Great list! Would also add Jyoti on 18th Street/ Adams Morgan. They are consistently delicious and have amazing lunch specials.

Awesome List. Made me hungry. Haandi in Bethesda and Falls Church has been my favorite for years. Incredible Indian food.

wow, some in depth research on this one.. enter a question into some website most people have never heard of, 5 random people respond, and you have an article that TBD deems worthy of their main page. ....if old-media is wrong, i don't wanna be right.
