The weather is turning, and that means spring rec sports registration is upon us. Whether you're eager to relive your varsity days or merely looking for an excuse to attend happy hours in matching team t-shirts, take advantage of the D.C. area's premier rec sports leagues.

1. United Social Sports

   Registrations in D.C., Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland. Featuring teams for skee-ball, bocce ball, kickball and “cornhole” — that game where you throw a bean bag into a cut-out hole in a plank of wood. Registration ranges from about $25-55 per person.

2. Neighborhood Athletic Association

   Sports include flag and arena football, softball, whiffleball, volleyball, basketball, soccer and deck hockey. Registration is approximately $50 per person for each sport.

3. Arlington Athletic and Social League

   Features sports like volleyball, basketball, cornhole, flag football, dodgeball, softball and bowling. Registration ranges from $25-60 per person.

4. Rockville Athletic Sports League

   Sports include ultimate frisbee, flag football and football. Registration is $50 per person.

5. CHASE Kickballs - Washington, D.C. Kickball & Social Club

   Serves the D.C. area for kickball, dodgeball, bowling, broomball, volleyball, softball and inner tube water polo. $25-65 per player.

6. Fairfax Athletics

   Features golf, ultimate frisbee, kickball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, dodgeball, flag football and softball. Registration ranges from $35-65 per person.

7. Social Sports of Bethesda

   Sports include volleyball, dodgeball, softball and football. Football registration is $65 per person. Others vary.

8. D.C. Broomball

   The league plays at the Tucker Road Ice Rink. Registration is $90 per person.

9. Happy Hour Kickball

   Features kickball, dodgeball and bowling in Chevy Chase. The league also participates in a seasonal Beer Olympics. Register online for prices.
