Your Skills Are Transferable
People skills, problem-solving skills, and can-do skills are what I call "universal skills." They apply everywhere.
The fact that I wasn't great at turning my computer on, or couldn't figure out how to reboot it when it locked up, didn't prevent me from becoming a success in the technology industry. You've been a nurse for ten years and now you want to try sales? You're an expert at keeping people calm and explaining why they need certain treatments they may not be sure they need. How is that different from explaining to a client why your product is going to boost their sales or streamline their manufacturing process? Dental hygienist to accountant? Why not?
