ABC 7 Weather Forecast & Latest On Earl Updated Friday at 11:14 AM

T.G.I. F.  The weekend is almost here and once Earl is gone I think your going to love the weekend forecast.

TODAY: Showers S&E; Breezy With Some Late Day Clearing
WINDS: NNW 10-15+
HIGHS: Mid - Upper 80s

TONIGHT: Partly Cloudy; Lowering Humidity
WINDS: W 5-10
LOWS: 60s

SATURDAY: Partly Sunny; Breezy & Much Cooler
WINDS: WNW 15-20 Gusts Near 30 Poss.
HIGHS: Near 80

As of the 11 AM advisory, Hurricane Earl is weaker and now a Category 1 storm with maximum sustained winds of 85 mph and is moving to the NNE at 21 MPH.  Earl is expected to accelerate over the next 12 hours and by early this afternoon should be centered about 160 miles off the Delmarva Coast. A few bands of showers will persist for while longer in on locations across Southern MD, the Northern Neck, and of course the Delmarva this morning. Once Earl beings its acceleration off to the northeast we will see gradual improvements and clearing late today from the WSW to the ENE. With a glancing blow from Earl, beaches will continue feel the most effects of this storm.  A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect. At the beaches they can still expect tropical storm winds of 40 mph or greater, periods of rain, possible beach erosion, and rip currents. While the weather will rapidly improve region wide, with the departure of Earl, rip currents will remain a dangerous into Sunday.

A cold front will cross the area tonight and will usher in much cooler and less humid air in time for the long Labor Day weekend. Winds will remain breezy or gusty Saturday under partly sunny skies with highs near 80. The breeze subsides but the pleasantly cooler weather remains in place for Sunday and Monday with sunshine and highs around 80 degrees. Temperatures will moderate back into the upper 80's to near 90 with a increase in humidity as well by Tuesday. If you wondering about the chances of some rain, I can tell you that its not looking promising. Our next cold front will swing through Wednesday night but looks to lack any real moisture.
